The upcoming Renault Triber will be a compact car, similar to the Datsun GO+. As, The Renault India has released a first teaser of its upcoming car, the Triber which is slated to see a global unveil on June 19, 2019 in New Delhi, India.
The new teaser gives us a small idea about what exactly the car will look like. Up front, you see things like:
- three slat chrome grille
- projector headlamps
- LED DRLs too.
There are some lovely creases on the bonnet too. which adds to the muscular stance of the car as also the big Renault logo which basically is in line with the company’s latest design language worldwide. The new compact car from Renault India is an all-new model based on the modified version of the Kwid’s CMF-A platform. Renault India has confirmed that the upcoming Triber will be positioned in India between the Kwid and its SUV offerings.
Safety equipment on the Triber will include dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, seatbelt warning and a speed warning system. Higher variants will come with a rear parking camera as well. There are talks of curtain airbags too, however it remains to be seen whether these make it a great spec full model and he Triber could get interior features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, a colored MID and many more.
Renault Triber 2019 platform:
The new compact car from http://Renault India is an all-new model based on the modified version of the Kwid’s CMF-A platform. The Triber will be just around four meters in length. Renault has been highly successful with the Kwid and the CMF-A platform. The company already has 1.25 lakh bookings for the Kwid, despite its limited dealership network. The CMF-A+ is a modified platform that can house bigger size vehicles and larger engines thereby helping the Renault to retain a high level of localization.
Renault Triber Features:
The Renault Triber 2019 will have a lot of features in the offering. This will be the first proper seven-seater MPV that will be under 4 meters. At the moment, there is no other vehicle in this segment. The current and the next Ertiga will be more than 4 meters in length and the Datsun Go+ is 5+2 seater. Renault is looking at applying the Lodgy space concept on its all-new MPV. The Renault Triber has several features such as:

Renault Triber Engine:
The Triber will get the 3 cylinders 1.0-liter engine of the Kwid. It will make a lot more power in the 7 seater car. The 1.5-liter diesel engine could be a second engine option for a diesel variant. It will be interesting to see if petrol and diesel options might be offered in the Renault Triber 2019. The company is looking at adding a lot more options to the transmission. There will be a five-speed manual and AMT as well. The petrol should churn about 90bhp of power and the diesel about 85bhp. These will be offered on the Renault Triber. Right from the start itself the automatic version of the car will be available.
Renault is looking at adding this new MPV into the Indian car market by mid-2019. It has plans to get more vehicles on the CMF-A platform. After the Kwid this will be the first product for the French company on this platform.
Renault Triber 2019 Colors:
Ice Cool White
These colors are also available with the Kwid, capture and duster. These color options will also be available on the Renault Triber2019 also.This car could also be the second car to get the climber treatment like the Kwid.
As for the cabin, the new http://Renault Triber will also come with a newly designed dashboard with two tone black and beige treatment with a silver panel around the air-con vents. The car will also get a large centre touchscreen display for infotainment, which could come with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Renault had earlier mentioned that the new Triber will also come with a spacious cabin, which is also apparent from the long wheelbase, and short overhangs.
Triber Launch Date in India:
The new MVP is expected to be launched in the second half of 2019. The car will be unveiled this month on 19th July. Renault is looking at enhancing its sales network and getting unique products too. With this new product, Renault will be looking at capturing the private taxi market. A good option for city dwellers too. It will enhance the ability to carry more people in a vehicle with a footprint of a hatchback.

Triber Price in India:
The Renault Triber will be priced at about Rs 6.5 lakhs to Rs 11 lakhs (on-road). This will not have a direct competitor. This is the exact kind of segment Renault will be looking at capturing. This will be possible as the CMF-A platform has been localized and this will help to reduce the cost and make it better value for money. Instead of getting an all-new compact SUV, Renault is looking at exploring the compact MUV with MPV practicality and hatchback-like usability. Renault is making the Triber especially for India and the car will be locally manufactured.
